Austrians are more likely to agree that it is important to live in a country where people respect the country’s traditions. Austrian citizens with the highest Populism Propensity Score and who score highly on SSMP are much more likely, however, to agree with this proposition.

 

Almost 45% of Austrians (red bar) agree it is very important to “respect the country’s traditions.”

The difference between those scoring highest and lowest on PPS when it comes to respecting Austrians traditions is significant. Over 65% percent of Austrians with the highest PPS say it is very important to “live in a country where people respect the country’s traditions.” 

More than 8 of 10 Austrians with the highest SSMP think it is very important to “live in a country where people respect the country’s traditions.” By contrast, just 35% of Austrians with the lowest SSMP agree that respecting Austrian traditions is very important.
